这种浮筒式的液位开关不是浮子浮在液位表面，而是浮筒被悬挂在弹簧上，当液位上升时，浮力导致浮筒的重量减少，也减少了悬挂的弹簧的张力，使得开关动作。由于采用不同的原理，这个液位开关比浮子式液位开关更能承受干扰或压力的变化，特别适用于粘度大的液体或脏污的液体。
